Dalaman is famous for one thing(if you don't' count the airport); and that's it's proximity to Olu Deniz. Turkey 's number one beach is doubtless the country's most reproduced image after the ubiquitous mug shot of Ataturk. It's a Mecca of indolence where lazy sun-drenched days are only interrupted to cool off in the crystal lagoon.
Although the beach can get hectic in the day, things tend to wind down in the evening when the air cools and the cafes begin to thin out. One of the favourite evening haunts is the fishy Ottomania Restaurant. It's above the Fly-Inn bar(a paragliding pun) whose most distinguishing features are the two gigantic hounds slumped on the patio. If you fancy taking the pace down a little, daily boat trips run to Butterfly Valley, a laid back hippy hideout where time(and certainly motivation) are suspended.
